Get to the point.

Resident Evil Village is a rollercoaster ride - and one of our favourite games of this year - and this new mod hikes up the weirdness level even higher. Ever wondered what Rose would look like if her dad was Pyramid Head from Silent Hill?

One must expect some folly from the modding community of any game, irrespective of genre or subject matter. Consider Thomas the Tank Engine in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a classic that transforms Alduin the World Eater into the beloved locomotive. Or, perhaps you're predisposed to playing Pokémon Yellow inside your longhouse in Valheim. However, there are occasional flashes of brilliance from mods - cracking creations that make you say, "hang on, why wasn't this a thing before?"

Star Wars Open Worlds mods Fallout: New Vegas into the galaxy far, far away, offering an "engaging choice-driven story" with an expansive character customisation system and companions. Ewan was floored by the power of photorealistic reshades in Red Dead Redemption 2, and a new mod allows Arthur Morgan to adopt a pooch on his journey across the Wild West.

For your viewing pleasure, here is Resident Evil Village ravaged by mods to the point of total terror and awesome chaos.

Naturally, Resident Evil Village has not escaped the notice of modders, and more than a handful of these are NSFW. Click through if you dare. This one, from Jewight on Nexus Mods, is much sillier. It simply swaps Rose's adorably round baby face for the blood-rusted helmet of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2. Personally, I like the possibilities of this mod.

Ethan and Mia already have anxieties over Rose's development due to their own hybrid DNA, as it was mixed with the mold that took hold of the Baker homestead. I'd imagine that the fact that she has a big ol' bucket on her head wouldn't phase the two, and they'd be focused on her crawling, rolling over, sitting phases and making sure she's still on track for those milestones.

Also, presuming that the helmet is roomy enough in there, it could act as a holder for those four flasks of Rose's body that are required for Mother Miranda's ritual. The practical applications are numerous - for example, Ethan and Mia wouldn't have to worry about protecting Rose's delicate skin from the sun on beach days. She's born with a hat. Maybe this is the next evolution for the human species. I back it, for definite.
