Rockstar Games revealed that Grand Theft Auto Online is getting a "cavalcade" - yes, that is the word it used - of goodies in the next few months to celebrate the arrival of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition includes the revamped and remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. With "across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals," these are the games that fans have been waiting and waiting for.

Of course, this also offers the studio an opportunity to drum up hype in Grand Theft Auto Online, and it sounds like it's pulling out all of the stops to commemorate these classic games.

"Look for a cavalcade of special gear to collect in Grand Theft Auto Online throughout upcoming events this Fall, including commemorative clothing and liveries," said Rockstar Games in the announcement. "This month's GTA Online events will also have some special surprises - including the upcoming possibility of some unusual activity occurring in and around Southern San Andreas..."

So, it sure looks like players won't be waiting very long to get stuck into the celebratory events for the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. Though, I would advise to start saving your pennies for the anticipated remasters.

When publisher Take-Two Interactive said that gamers should anticipate a serious price hike for new titles, it meant it. "Our view was that we're offering an array of extraordinary experiences, lots of replayability, and the last time there was a frontline price increase in the US was 2005/2006," said CEO Strauss Zelnick on the price of NBA 2K21.
