Players Have Found A Way To 'Save' Lenny In 'Red Dead Redemption 2'

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic odyssey across a dying Wild West, eking out an existence against improbable odds, and the loss of dear friends hits hard. However, one player has managed to save the life of Lenny Summers and change the story of the game completely.

Here at GAMINGbible, we think Red Dead Redemption is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is like a freshly baked loaf of tiger bread, still warm out of the oven with the crackliest of crusts. Ewan called it a "game filled with phenomenal moments," yet, the beginning of the story following the Van der Linde gang shows you that it's not going to be a very happy ending for these loveable outlaws. You learn to appreciate the slower moments where characters express their likes, dislikes, hopes and fears. Even on a second or third playthrough, losing the members of the gang stings just as much as the shock of the first time. If you could save them from their demise, you would, wouldn't you?

Once the credits roll on Red Dead Redemption 2, you'll likely shed a tear or two. However, I'll be darned if it doesn't give us a giggle every now and then thanks to its enormous open world where anything could happen.

SWOL, a Twitch streamer who plays a lot of Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2, attempted the impossible in the Saint Denis robbery. Using what is likely to be mods, he ensures Arthur leaps ahead of Lenny as the two run along the alley. Then, in a scene that wouldn't be out of place in a Superman movie, Arthur flies off into the horizon carrying Lenny, far, far away from the danger. Of course, this is a deviation from the sacred timeline and would require the Time Variance Authority squads (from Loki on Disney+) to track Arthur and Lenny down and rectify the "error."

That would be an amazing game, though. Two cowboys on the run from the futuristic fuzz because one decided to use their powers to prevent the other's death. Lenny would realise why they would always encounter these same agents and come to terms with the fact that he should technically have been killed by the Pinkertons with Hosea in the skirmishes in Saint Denis. You can have that one for free, Rockstar Games.
