Rockstar Is Currently Hiring For Game Testers

Whatever could they be working on over there?

It looks like Rockstar is finally at the stage that it's got new content to test. The developer behind the huge Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series is currently hiring more game testers and we're not sure why - it could be because they're testing upcoming online content for games or maybe, just maybe the studio is looking for testers on a new game.

Spotted by The National, this role would allow applicants to join the team to test products put together by Rockstar North. Game testing, though it sounds fun, is a laborious job that really is the last defence between a buggy, glitchy mess and a smooth gaming experience. In other words, they're the heroes of game development studios for spotting problems when they arise and it's going to be important that Rockstar chooses its new collaborators carefully.

Even though Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece, that doesn't stop some incredible fails achieved by you the players - check out some of our favourites below:

The career page on the Rockstar Games website says that the person who will join the team must be "passionate, enthusiastic, and self-motivated" and will have the responsibility, of course, to test and report bugs on games. It's not clear if this is a sign that there is a new game that needs to be tested or it'll be for the DLC that comes with Rockstar's online portions of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.

So if you're interested in the role, you might be wondering what you need to be able to apply. Well, the qualifications needed to become part of the team include, "Competent gaming ability, an interest in and understanding of the video game industry, good general PC knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Office suite, and good standard of written English". Otherwise there are some skills that are going to be present in the right candidate like "attention to detail" and a solid knowledge of the current gaming sphere.

Though it's not a lot to go on in terms of hinting at a new game from the development giant, it leaves room for speculation on what the team is developing that needs a tester. We can dream about Rockstar's next release a little longer.
