Last night Deep Silver finally announced the long-awaited Saints Row, and it's looking pretty damn slick. Six years since the last entry, Saints Row IV: Gat Out Of Hell, developer Volition is doubling down on the frantic, anarchic energy in a complete reboot of the series.

Saints Row is aiming for a February 25 2022 release date, and will include all the things you'd expect from a new Saints Row game. There are plenty of weapons to unlock, cars to race, and a huge open-world to explore. There'll also be cross-gen multiplayer, and a fully customisable player character. For even more on the newest entry, you can check out our in-depth preview right here.

While February 2022 might not be that long away, seeing Saints Row back in action might have reawakened your urge to go back and play some of the older games in the series, right? Am I right? I'm going to assume I'm right since you can't actually respond to me. Fortunately, those of you with a PC and an Epic account can get your hands on one of the best Saints Row games right now - and it won't cost you a penny!

Deep Silver and Epic Games have announced that Saints Row: The Third Remastered is free to download right now on PC via the Epic Games Store. You've got until September 2 to visit the game's EGS page and claim your free copy.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered is the 2020 edition of the original 2011, boasting enhanced graphics, improved lighting, reworked environments, visual effects, and more. It's worth noting that some Steam reviews point out the game is less than reliable on PC, but others insist that most of the remaster's glitches have since been ironed out. Given that it's free, you don't exactly have anything to lose if you download it to see for yourself, do you?
