Proposing to your partner can be an entirely nerve-wracking experience, even if you're confident they're going to say yes. Fortunately, I was fairly certain my (now) wife was going to accept my suggestion, but if you're a little less certain, you might want to think about packing a ring that your significant other would struggle to turn down.
I believe we have found that ring through the world of Pokémon, of all things. As spotted by Kotaku,The Pokémon Company has teamed up with Tokyo jeweler Ginza Tanaka for an engagement ring that looks just like Pikachu... if Pikachu had a diamond for a face and willies for ears, that is.
Take a look for yourself below - those ears are seriously phallic, right?
But hey, I'm not here to tear this ring down. If you can look past the penis ears, I think this is the perfect way to propose to the Pokémonfanatic in your life. And if your partner doesn't like Pokémon? What on Earth were you doing with them in the first place? Dump them, and save the ring for someone who really appreciates the classic RPG franchise, and by extension you.
The ring is available via the Pokémon Center Online, and comes come in 18k gold with a 0.3ct stone diamond. The bad news is that it'll set you back 346,500 yen, which is just over £2.5k.
But who needs to give their spouse things like a house and financial security when they can look down at their hand and see a ridiculously priced novelty ring with penises sprouting out of it? Oh I guess I am kind of here to tear this ring down.
If you're not quite into Pikachu but want to express your love via the medium of Pokémon, there are plenty of other rings on the site for you to choose from. Frankly, the rest of them are a lot more tasteful, but you certainly should go for whatever feels right to you. And whatever you feel your partner would like, obviously.
I nearly forgot the best bit, though! If you do choose to buy this "magnificent" ring, it comes encased in a luxurious regal Poké Ball. Just imagine getting down on one knee and popping open an actual Poké Ball. Actually, that gives me a great idea for a Pokémon dating sim. Excuse me while I try and get Nintendo on the phone.
