SEGA has pulled its Yakuza spin-off Judgment from sale in Japan after one of its voice-over actors, Pierre Taki, was arrested for taking cocaine.

Judgment launched in Japan on December 13, but since Pierre's arrest SEGA Japan has halted shipments of physical copies of the game and pulled digital copies from online marketplaces. It also plans to delete tweets about the game.

Masanori 'Pierre' Taki admitted to taking a small amount of cocaine in Tokyo, according to Japan Times. Police searched Taki's car and home, where drugs weren't found, but a urine test revealed traces of the drug, Nippon reports.

While cocaine and other drugs might seem par for the course in the acting life, Japan has extremely strict drug laws and socially any use of illegal substances is massively frowned upon.

Another result of Taki's arrest is that Disney is searching for a new actor to replace him as the voice actor for Olaf, the snowman, in Frozen 2, according to Asahi News (via Kotaku). Square Enix has said (via PlayStation Life) that it is going to replace the voice of the character in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Judgment will be releasing on June 25 in the UK and will have English-speaking voice actors (alongside the Japanese voice track), so Taki's arrest shouldn't impact its launch. Unless it does, of course, in which case: that'll suck.

Is this an overreaction from SEGA (and Square Enix)? Let us know - we're on Facebook and Twitter.
