Send Margaret Thatcher "Back To Hell" In This New Shooter

Gamers have faced all manner of unconventional bosses over the years. Giant crabs. Large piles of sentient singing poo. Psycho Mantis. But none of these quite compare to the latest threat headed our way: the reanimated corpse of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Thatcher's Techbase is a game-sized mod for the original DOOM in which you explore the tenth circle of Hell - the United Kingdom - and fight your way through hordes of demons to get to Thatcher and end her evil plans. I think you can probably guess what developer Doom Daddy Digital thinks of the Conservative Party.

Take a look at the game in action below. No, I can't quite believe it's real either.

As you probably know, Thatcher served as Britain's Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990. She was, to put it mildly, a divisive figure with a legacy that has had a deep and lasting impact on the UK. Thatcher passed away in 2013. Is that long ago enough to make this okay? That'll depend entirely on who you ask.

To be fair, the recently rebooted Spitting Image included a sketch in which our current PM Boris Johnson held a séance to speak with Thatcher, so maybe it's okay. On the other hand, the rebooted Spitting Image is about as funny as watching mountains of dead puppies being shoveled into a mass grave, so it's perhaps not exactly the best example of decency.

If you don't see a problem with it, Thatcher's Techbase will be entirely free to download from September 24.
