Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has just come out in theatres and people are loving it. It introduces a new hero and cast to the Marvel Cinematic Universe which may be a breath of fresh air for those of us who are deeply invested in all the shows and movies being produced. And it certainly helps that actor Simu Liu has been a likeable character off-screen two, having a fun Twitter presence and going on YouTube shows like Dish Granted. But now we love him even more since we've realised he was a stock photo model in a previous life.

That's right, before Simu Liu was a Hollywood big shot, he took all sorts of jobs from handing out dog food samples to stock photo modelling. Twitter showed us a couple of pictures of the actor in generic pics you'd see in business courses, but he's actually appeared in a lot more.

Here is the trailer for Shang-Chi...

After seeing some of these shots on Twitter, it turns out he's already talked about his previous roles as business guy three or man with a hard hat on, on The Kelly Clarkson Show. You can watch the clip below as he talks about how he's had fans spot these pictures all around the world from gyms to textbooks.

Liu has even posted pictures of his work and how much he was paid for it on his Instagram stories. A picture with him in a hard hat was given this context by the actor: "I did one stock photoshoot for 100 bucks cash in 2014... and I have ended up on hundreds of ads and storefronts and pamphlets and textbook covers."

Well, we all have to start somewhere right? It's funny to see what previous jobs some stars have before they become household names, and Simu Liu is no different. Shang-Chi is in cinemas now and will be on Disney+ next month.
