Shiba Opening Pokémon Card Packs Goes About As Well As You'd Expect

Shiba Opening Pokémon Card Packs Goes About As Well As You'd Expect

Professional card opening videos are strangely elegant a lot of the time. The outside of the Pokémon card pack is studied at first, a moment where we can all take in the beautiful packaging. Then the pack is opened from the back, the seals of the packaging are pried apart in an effort to touch or distort the cards as little as possible. A few cards are then taken from the back so we have a chance of seeing that all-important holo last, creating a build-up of tension and suspense. Exquisite. But yeah, all that goes out the window when you introduce a Shiba Inu puppy into the mix.

YouTuber Maxmoefoe, found that out with a new video wherein he hands over pack-opening powers to his new little baby puppy Kevin. And it's just so, so, cute, although slightly distressing if you're into the proper pack openings that are all over YouTube.

Kevin, frankly, destroys these packs. So many tiny tooth marks appear all over the cards and at least a few of them are lost to the void as Kevin does his best to show you the draws. Honestly, if you like cards you might hate this video, but if you like puppies it's the best. The duality of cuteness and destruction is an art form.

Personally, I'm in the camp of allowing Kevin to open all card packs from now on, he does it very professionally and then instead of a PSA value on each card we can start a new Kevin factor grading. It'll just be a measure of how much Kevin chews the card before Maxmoefoe can wrestle it off him.

Although the cards in the video are newer, sadly a lovely Xerneas fell to Kevin's antics. In good condition, it would have been worth around $10 AUD which is pretty good for new packs. At least for future matchups, we know that fairy types don't do well against Kevin-types. Thankfully a beautiful Noivern worth around $13 AUD was mostly saved, although we're not sure how much damage a single corner chomp does to the value of a card in this economy.
