Twitch Star Shroud Explains What It'd Take For Him To Retire

Featured Image Credit: Shroud

Michael 'Shroud' Grseziek dominated the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene as an esports athlete, and since retiring has continued to dominate the Twitch scene as one of the world's most successful streamers. This guy just keeps winning and games are at the centre of his career - so what would it take for him to retire from streaming and games altogether?

Well according to Dexerto, quite a lot actually. In a recent stream, Shroud was asked about how long he plans on continuing his work as a streamer - and his answer was, basically, "forever". Though streaming careers come and go - and he even made content on Mixer before it fell apart - Shroud has continued to thrive and grow as a creator. The only reason he'd ever stop doing that is if no one wanted to watch, and he couldn't make money from it anymore.

Shroud says: "I'll never retire, I'll be doing this forever. As long as you guys are here - think about it this way okay? As long as you guys are here and interested in watching me, I will never quit." He does go on to say he obviously doesn't mean literally forever because he'll "get old and just die". You can watch the clip below.

He says that "there's no reason for me to quit, like, there's just not... As long as I'm making money." Shroud even jokes that he'll be 80 and need a nurse to help him and he'd still be gaming live on stream. He makes a very decent living from being this public figure with adoring fans, so as long as chat is there for him, he'll continue doing what he does best - gaming.
