'Skyrim' Is 10 This Year, And Fans Are Bracing For A Next-Gen Remake

Still no Elder Scrolls VI though.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim turns 10 this year. Let that sink in. It's been ten years since Bethesda released the last main entry in its popular open-world fantasy RPG franchise, and there's still no indication of when we can expect The Elder Scrolls VI. At this point, I wouldn't be that surprised if Bethesda released a tenth anniversary edition of Skyrim for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

Naturally, fans around the world have reacted with disbelief at the fact that Skyrim's 10th Birthday has somehow managed to sneak up on us all like a stealth archer in a bandit hideout. Most fans have taken the opportunity to react to the news with joy, arguing that it hasn't felt like 10 years because Skyrim is such a massive game that keeps on giving - especially thanks to mods.

Oh, and just in case you didn't feel old enough after reading Skyrim turns 10, here are a few other major releases that celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2021.

Of course a lot of people are also asking what this means for The Elder Scrolls VI. We've never had to wait this long for a new entry in the series, and fans are starting to get a little antsy.

Sorry Baron, but I think most of us are certain Bethesda is going to do exactly what you don't want them to do and released a next-gen special edition. And you know what? I'll be first in line to buy it. I hate myself a little for that, but I know it's true.
