'Skyrim' Player Uncovers Super Broken Method To Max Out Stats Early In The Game

It's no secret that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game riddled, positively heaving, with bugs and glitches. Bethesda's classic open-world RPG may be universally beloved, but the amount of broken quests, janky NPCs, and other issues that were in the game at launch was alarming.

Many of the larger issues in Skyrim have since been sorted, thankfully. But you only need to head to Reddit to see that there are, to this day, newcomers asking veterans about workarounds for certain glitches that have long since bedded into the fabric of the game.

Take a tour of Skyrim below!

Of course not all glitches in Skyrim are bad, and many can actually be used for personal gain. Most players are probably aware of the fantastic iron dagger exploit that made it possible to level up at incredible speeds just by crafting a crap-ton of iron daggers. That's definitely the most famous exploit in Skyrim - and was patched years ago - but it's not the only one.

As demonstrated below, it's possible to quickly and easily max out your character's speech super early on in Skyrim. All you have to do is repeated the same dialogue branch Jarl Balgruuf the Greater. Speech maybe isn't the most useful max skill to have, but you can still do some pretty fun stuff with it.

While not a brand-new discovery by any means, the fact it current sits on The Elder Scrolls subreddit with over 11k upvotes suggests that not a lot of players were aware this existed... or at least that it hadn't been patched out. Personally, I had no idea about this one at all - but I will absolutely be trying it next time I start a new playthrough.

Do we have to worry about Bethesda finding out and patching this so we can't use it anymore? It's been ten years. I think we're probably fine.
