‘Daredevil’s Kingpin Could Appear In The Next Spider-Man Movie

The actor himself is very keen to return to the role.

It's a wild time to be a Spider-Man fan, with the whispers about the possible cast of past and present heroes and villains in Spider-Man: No Way Home swirling like silk on the wind. In our latest scoop, it looks like Sony is considering the ruthless businessman Kingpin to put in an appearance in the fourth film.

Kingpin is played by Vincent D'Onofrio in Daredevil, and Marvel Studios could not believe its luck when it bagged the Emmy-nominated actor. "We're incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining Marvel's Daredevil in such an integral role," said the company at the time of the announcement. Indeed, D'Onofrio's presence as a volatile, persuasive yet charismatic villain was something you simply couldn't tear your eyes from on the show.

I'm just going to spend some words here telling you that, along with countless credits in television and movies, D'Onofrio also snagged a role in an acclaimed game of 2016. He plays Duke Abele in Dishonored 2 and he didn't cut corners in his performance of the slimy aristocrat. This is one of my favourite facts and I hope that it might become one of your favourite facts too.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the collection of TV shows and movies that spring off the legacy of the Avengers is looking pretty sweet. Check them out in a compilation below.

Anyway. D'Onofrio himself has shown a lot of enthusiasm for donning that iconic white suit once again as Kingpin, and there's a twist in the tale when it comes to a comeback. We've Got This Covered states that Marvel is in charge of the television version of the character whereas Sony has the rights to the movie version of the character.

As a result, the latter has been considering calling D'Onofrio to ask whether he would want a role in the next Spider-Man movie following No Way Home. We've Got This Covered is confident in the veracity of its source on this claim yet it's important that we exercise caution as neither Sony nor D'Onofrio has made any mention of this being on the cards. Wouldn't it be brilliant, though?

"If Marvel doesn't bring you in as Kingpin when they bring him into the MCU, they are foolish. You were hands down the best depiction I have seen to date," said @Ned_the_Zombie in a reply to the actor's Tweet about the popularity of Daredevil. "Never thought I'd see Kingpin so perfectly incarnated in live-action as your portrayal," added @gummitch_uk. The people have spoken, so we'll keep you in the loop as and when we learn more.
