The rumour mill continues to churn out suggestions that Spider-Man: No Way Home will finally see Tom Holland's MCU wallcrawler will joined by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, reprising their roles as the original Sony Spider-Man and the rebooted Amazing Spidey respectively.

It certainly looks like a possibility based on what we know so far about the plot and some of the other actors that have signed on. Everything seems to point towards No Way Home being some kind of multiverse-hopping adventure in which Holland's Spider-Man meets alternate incarnations of himself. If Loki can do it, why not Spidey?

It's the confirmed cast that really starts to give the game away. Between Benedict Cumberbatch joining the film as Doctor Strange, as well as the news that Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx are returning as Doctor Octopus and Electro from Spider-Man 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 respectively, it's hard not to immediately assume multiversal shenanigans are afoot.

Despite repeated insistence from Marvel that this is not happening, the rumours and reports just keep on coming. People really want Maguire and Garfield in this film, basically.

A few months ago Roger Pera, the Spanish dub actor for Maguire in Sam Raimi's original trilogy, appeared to outright confirm that he'd done some work on No Way Home. As intriguing as this was, it was noted at the time that Pera might not necessarily be dubbing Maguire, as dub actors often "do" multiple stars.

However, Brazilian voice actor Manolo Rey - who also handled Maguire Spidey dubs in the past - has now strongly hinted that he'll also be back to dub the original Spider-Man once again. As you can see below, his response to a fan is hardly outright confirmation, but a definite tease given all the other reports floating around right now.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
is expected to swing into cinemas December 17 this year. Hopefully we get a trailer soon so we can stop all this speculation and start looking forward.
