'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Shows Off Spidey's Strange New Costume

It looks like Tom Holland's Spider-Man will once again be donning a new costume in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The MCU wallcrawler's wardrobe is positively bursting compared to previous big-screen Spidey's, and his latest threads look like the strangest yet - pun intended.

As first spotted by GameSpot, a new Spider-Man figure from Hot Toys has given us an early look at a new costume for Peter Parker that appears to blend science and magic. Given we already know Doctor Strange will make an appearance in the upcoming movie, it's not a stretch to imagine that the Sorcerer Supreme will help the webhead out with some kind of magical upgrade.

Before we move on, take a look at some of our very favourite Spider-Man games below!

As you can see below, it seems Peter will at some point don a shiny new black and gold costume. It represents a pretty drastic shift from the old red and blue pajamas, but how is Disney going to sell more Spider-Man toys if they don't get our hero into as many outfits as possible in the course of one movie? Won't somebody think of the toy sales?

The Hot Toys version of this new suit comes with a collection of accessories that help us to work out a little more about how the costume change will factor into the story. For one thing it comes with a swappable head that most definitely looks like Tom Holland, so we can assume it is the MCU Spidey under the black and gold mask, not some multiverse Variant.

There are also a couple of mystical looking web-blasts that can be attached to Spidey's shooters, which is absolutely implies Strange's involvement with the redesign. I expect Peter needs help fighting some kind of magical foe, but the gorgeous circuitry visibly running underneath the webbing on the suit confirms he hasn't forgotten his science roots.

In truth, this costume probably leaves us with more questions than answers at this point, but its fun to speculate. Here's hoping Sony and Marvel finally drop the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer soon. That December release date is creeping up on us.
