Sony and Marvel finally dropped the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer last night, but there are a few fans who were left a little dejected after viewing it.

It's not that that the action-packed trailer didn't deliver - far from it - it's just that there are those who feel some of the movie's biggest surprises, namely the returns of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus, were spoiled by the sneak-peek at the wallcrawler's upcoming adventure.

Take a look at the trailer below. Or don't. I'm not your mum.

The good news, according to Tom Holland himself, is that there are still plenty of surprises to come. The young Spider-Man star thanked fans for the love and support that followed the release of the trailer, and assured viewers that what we've seen so far is "just the tip of the iceberg". If that doesn't mean Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are coming back, I don't know what does.

"I turned my phone on and my phone has gone mental," Holland said on Instagram. "The love and support you guys have shown the film is so exciting. Honestly that is just the tip of the iceberg. You have no idea what else is to come. I am so excited to share more with you guys. It feels so good to be back with Spider-Man, to be showing you trailers, to be having films coming out."

Spider-Man: No Way Home sees a desperate Peter turn to Doctor Strange for help with a spell that will allow the world to forget he's Spider-Man. Predictably things soon go terribly wrong, and the pair are thrown into a strange new world with some familiar - and not very friendly - faces. Assuming everything goes to plan, No Way Home will be in cinemas December 17.
