Star Wars Jedi 2 Order 2 Furious

Did EA just tease news of a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order? Fans certainly seem to think so, as the official EA Star Wars Twitter account just reminded everyone that "now is a great time" to revisit Respawn's single-player adventure game.

To be fair, there's nothing too suspicious about that in and of itself. For a start, EA probably thinks any time is a "great time" for you to go play one of its games, right? There's also the fact that the enhanced PlayStation 5/Xbox Series version of the game launched earlier this month, with upgrades that definitely justify a return visit. But when we consider the timing of this tweet? Well, that's when it gets hard not to connect certain dots.

If you like Star Wars - and I'm betting you do since you're here - you might consider taking a look at this wonderful Flight Simulator mod before we move on:

As you probably know, EA is planning a big event for July 22 during which the publisher is expected to show off a few games we already know about - and maybe a few surprises too. Could Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 be among those surprise reveals in just a few weeks? The timing of this tweet has definitely put the idea in our heads now.

While EA tweeting out about Jedi: Fallen Order really could mean anything, it's a fairly open secret that a sequel is in development given the astounding success of the first game. Earlier this year, Respawn senior producer Blair Brown confirmed that the team are (or were) looking for a producer to join them on a new Star Wars project.

The listing in question never specifically referenced Jedi: Fallen Order, but I can't imagine Respawn would be working on any new Star Wars-related projects - especially given the fact that EA no longer has exclusive publishing rights to Star Wars games.

For now, I'd say temper your expectations and wait to see what July 22 brings us.
