Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, though currently unconfirmed, is an almost cert after Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts were rolling in the dough following the game's incredible sales statistics. These rumours assert that the team is taking the sequel in a very interesting direction, and an iconic villain may make a return.

Now, these claims must be considered with caution, as there's no way of checking them for validity at the moment. Yet, with the developer staying shtum for the foreseeable future, it's fun to speculate what the game will be like. The first note says that the story of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 picks up immediately following the denouement of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Not only is this is a smart move, sidestepping the awkwardness of a time skip where Cal somehow forgets all of his abilities between then and now, but this offers a smooth transition from game to game.

The second note mentions Inferno Squad, which is a major part of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Originally, the Imperial Special Forces commando unit was directed by Iden Versio and sought to eradicate the Dreamers, former members of Saw Gerrera's Partisans. Saw Gerrera and Cal worked together to free the Wookiees on Kashyyyk, and the former offered the latter a place in the Partisans. It's not outside the realm of possibility that, following Gerrera's death, Cal stumbles upon the group on the planet of Jeosyn, or what remains of their headquarters, following Versio's successful neutralisation of the extremist faction.

The third and fourth notes are really something, so strap in. The source claims that the remainder of the Imperial Inquisition will appear in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, which is a rational assumption. The Second Sister and the Ninth Sister were fearsome foes in the first game, but the note continues to state that a Terrelian Inquisitor will join the fray.

The only Terrelian Inquisitor that exists is the Eighth Brother, who was in charge of hunting down Maul in the events of Star Wars Rebels. Though he is extremely skilled and driven, he is also impulsive, which leads to his undoing in his pursuit of Maul. Coincidentally, apparently there have been "talks" at Respawn Entertainment to feature Darth Maul in the upcoming game in a "cameo" capacity. Sam Witwer, who voiced the character in Rebels, would reprise his role here, if these notes hold water.

Last but not least, the leaker states that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will launch in late 2022, and Star Wars Battlefront 3 will be revealed soon. These tidbits are very enticing for fans of the game and for fans of the wider Star Wars canon, and the galaxy is only going to get greater. Lucasfilms and Disney have teamed up with Ubisoft to develop an "original and unforgettable" Star Wars game, and Knights Of The Old Republic 3 may be in the works at a mystery studio.
