Thanks to this mod, the classic Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast has gotten a new lease of life, elevating all of the game's textures to gorgeous 4K resolutions.

Modder Kuzja80 is also known for their efforts remastering Call Of Duty 2, Fallout: New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - in fact, it's their work that's used in the Unreal Engine 5 recreation of Oblivion's Imperial City here.

As shown in the selection of screenshots, Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast looks stunning with the shiny new textures that have been upscaled through artificial intelligence. This approach maintains the visuals and the feel of the original game rather than pasting over them with images that don't exactly match the shades in the environments. Moreover, the sound engine has been tweaked as well as the shadow maps and dismemberment has been restored for all enemies.

Check out the trailer for the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, coming to PC and PlayStation 5 with "groundbreaking" graphics and the same acclaimed story!

It's worth noting that this mod for Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast needs its own launcher to be compatible with the original files, and dismemberment and cheats will work on the second launch or loading a new save. And, you can change the game's field of view!

Yesterday, Disney revealed that there will be a new Star Wars game to be shown off in December. There are a number of possibilities - it might be Ubisoft's untitled game, it might be a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and it might be the rumoured The Mandalorian game. The most intriguing is the recent report that Quantic Dream is developing a Star Wars game, because the studio is famed for their cinematic and reactive narrative experiences.

That would definitely be a departure from the standard Star Wars fare which have mostly focused on delivering first-person shooters or RPGs, so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. Watch this space.
