Actor Giancarlo Esposito revealed that the third season of The Mandalorian is scheduled to start filming soon, as shooting on the spinoff show The Book Of Boba Fett has recently been completed.
This checks out with what we knew about the timings of The Book Of Boba Fett as it is planned to premiere in December. Temeura Morrison, who plays the bounty hunter in The Mandalorian, said it was an "honour" to step into the shoes of the character after voicing him in video games and his excitement for the show is infectious. "We're going to see his past and where he's been since The Empire Strikes Back," explained Morrison in an interview. "Somebody pointed out he's been kind of stuck in this one place, and now's the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him."
Esposito is also appearing as a baddie in one of our most anticipated games of this year - Far Cry 6. Check out gameplay of the next entry to the series set on the tropical island of Yara.

It's arguable that Din Djarin and Boba Fett are equally loved by the fans, and with Disney staying shtum on the progress of its innumerable Star Wars shows, it's tough to tell if the impact of the pandemic has pushed any of these schedules backwards. Over the weekend, at GalaxyCon Raleigh, Esposito was asked for an update on the status of the third season of The Mandalorian for that very reason.
"They just finished shooting Boba Fett and soon they will start on [The Mandalorian] season 3," answered Esposito. Well, there we have it. Additionally, it's possible that filming on the third season will take the team to the United Kingdom, as eagle-eyed fans spotted that a number of the scenes of Andor are using Cleveleys as a backdrop for a watery locale.
And, the StageCraft technique (which was invented for the first season of The Mandalorian) allows the cast and crew to work with a "real" background for the daring dos that the warrior and Grogu undertake. In fact, the technology impressed Ewan McGregor as these enormous screens have been used for the prequel show starring Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Lastly, one curious fan asked whether we'd see Din Djarin without his helmet in the next chapter of the character's story. As per The Way, he never ever removes his helmet unless there is a specific need to do so, like healing wounds. "I can't speak to that, I mean, I know he'd love to be more off the helmet, but you know, his job is to be in the helmet," said Esposito. I think the Children of the Watch should adopt that as their mantra. Your job is to be in the helmet.
