BioWare has officially announced the latest expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Legacy Of The Sith is a major new update for the MMO that will mark the start of the game's 10-year anniversary celebrations. Expect an entirely new story, upgrades, missions, and a few other surprises along the way.

According to a blog post over on the official Star Wars website, Legacy Of The Sith will continue the game's storyline by "sending players on a military campaign to secure the aquatic planet Manaan for their faction as they uncover the ultimate plan of Darth Malgus, the renegade Sith."

The expansion will also include redesigned combat styles, a brand-new feature that "blends class abilities and an array of quality-of-life upgrades". Combat styles will give players the chance to choose from a specific class story and combine it with ability sets from other classes.

"New and old players alike can look forward to revamped character-creation system, featuring greater customization than ever before," the blog post continues. "And several game elements have been overhauled, including global rebalancing of gameplay and enemy encounters, updates to itemization, and character loadouts."

All in all, this new expansion sounds like it'll have plenty to offer lapsed players, all while rewarding die-hard fans and maybe even tempting some new players in along the way. Everybody wins! Legacy Of The Sith is expected to launch on PC via SWTOR.com and Steam this holiday season. BioWare also promises there'll be plenty more updates, content, and more throughout 2022 as the studio ramps up its 10th anniversary celebrations in honour of the much loved MMO. Watch this space.
