'Stranger Things' Season 4 First Trailer Dropped By Netflix

Netflix has just dropped the first teaser trailer for Stranger Things season four, and it looks like we're going back to the very beginning.

We haven't seen the Stranger Things gang since the third season came to a close in July, splitting friends and family apart. While Eleven and Hopper were able to save the day, the latter was seemingly killed in action (except not real, as we later learn he's in Russia). With her adoptive dad appearing to have bitten the dust, Joyce opted to move away from Hawkins with Eleven, Will, and Jonathon in tow. After three seasons of creepy shit in one town, you do have to wonder if the town is the problem.

As we can see from the trailer, it looks like season four will take us back the very beginning, from before the events of season one, even. Doctor Martin Brenner, or "papa", is back at the facility where Eleven was experimented on. Judging by the other kids glimpsed in the trailer, I'd imagine season four will once again address the fact that Eleven is just one of the many kids who were subjected to strange and unusual experiments in secret.

Production on the latest series of Stranger Things has been started and stopped a few times now due to the pandemic, but this new trailer would suggest we might get a release date sooner rather than later. Before the end of this year would be nice, but it's more likely that the new season will hit Netflix at some point in 2022. Watch this space.
