Why not make the game's hardest boss even harder, eh?

If you've played through Dark Souls there are probably a few faces you never want to see again. My personal favourite to hate is the Capra Demon and its dogs - but others have a particular anti-fondness for Ornstein and Smough, which are regularly hell to get through. However, one Darks Souls streamer has managed to beat both the bosses without any weapons at all.

DontRachQuit is a Scottish streamer with a long Dark Souls history. A huge fan of FromSoftware's famously challenging title, she knows the game like the back of her hand, and decided to challenge herself to one of the most difficult tasks imaginable. Completing the game, and all its bosses, only using the Armour of Thorns, AKA Kirk's armour.

If you're looking to get away this summer, why not visit the delightful Lothric...

The Armour of Thorns is available in Dark Souls 3, so Rach used this mod to add the set to her inventory at the beginning of the original game. Because the armour is covered in metal spikes (or thorns), rolling into an enemy will do some damage. Not a lot of damage, only between 10 and 50 damage according to GameRant, but it still hurts all the same. So obviously the sensible thing to do is go up against the most difficult bosses in the game: Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough.

And you know what, Rach does it - she wins. The final fight took her a total of 40 minutes, but the entire process and retries took the streamer about six hours, which to be quite perfectly honest with you, is a lot shorter than it would take the average player in these circumstances.

You can watch the cut-down version of the fight below to admire the endurance of the streamer as she slowly and methodically takes down Smough and then turns her attention to Ornstein. After depleting her Estus Flasks she turns to Humanity to finish off the spear wielder and then, finally, she gets him. It's incredible.

Also, go give DontRachQuit a follow! She makes great content and I can imagine she'll set herself other impressive and ridiculous FromSoftware challenges in the future.
