If you've played the excellent Guitar Hero 3 at any point in your life, you'll know that 'Through The Fire And Flames' represents the ultimate challenge for virtual rock gods everywhere.
Dragonforce's riff-laden odyssey is a five-minute test of endurance, dexterity, and skill. To get through the song on any difficulty was an achievement in itself. To do it on Expert mode required a special dedication. To finish it on Expert without missing a single note? That put you on another level entirely.
Of course at this point the most skilled Guitar Hero players out there have mastered 'Through The Fire And Flames' and crave a new challenge. How do you make the hardest song on Guitar Hero harder? By eating a ghost pepper and then attempting the song, apparently.
Streamer CarnyJared recently found an incredibly novel new way to push himself while playing Clone Hero, a free clone of Guitar Hero with most of the original series' songs - including the Dragonforce classic.
Our brave hero scoffed a ghost pepper and then set about playing through the song. For context, the hottest ghost pepper can be up 416 times hotter than even mildest jalapeño pepper. In other words, even if CarnyJared's ghost pepper was on the mild side, it still packed a hell of a punch.
As you can probably tell from the video, the streamer felt the effects of the pepper pretty quickly. But between chugs of milk and gasps of pain, magic happened. CarnyJared absolutely smashed his way through the song, only really missing notes when he threw his guitar to one side to take another swig of milk.
I think Reddit user Smashkan summed it up best in the comments: "The fire and the flames will be comin out his bum soon, what a beast though."
