Take A Look At 'Resident Evil 3' Remake's Jill Valentine In Real-Life

If looks could Jill.

Capcom really has been killing it lately. Not only were Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry V genuinely fantastic games, they were also utterly gorgeous. Really good looking pieces of work. Don't believe me? Go check them out in action. I'll wait.

The RE Engine really is an absolute beast, capable of generating some truly good-looking worlds and characters. Character models in particular were a highlight of this year's Resident Evil 2 remake. Based on what we've seen so far, the recently-announced Resident Evil 3 looks like it'll be following its predecessor's example.

Next year's hugely anticipated survival horror remake will be making a number of key alterations to the 1999 original. One of the most immediately obvious changes is to the design of the game's protagonist Jill Valentine.

The former S.T.A.R.S member will have her hands full as she attempts to escape Raccoon City in one piece, and she needs a new look indicative of that. According to Capcom, the tweaked design was to reflect the fact that she's ready for action/zombie attacks at a moment's notice.

We now know that the new and improved Jill Valentine is actually based on real-world model Sasha Zotova. As spotted by ResetEra, Zotova recently came forward on Instagram to announce that it's her likeness that inspired the latest version of the iconic video game hero. She thanked Capcom for the opportunity, and the fans for their support and kindness so far.

"I am happy to announce that I became the prototype of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 Remake," she wrote. "It is such an honour for me to work with Capcom and to be the face model of a cult character and join the RE family. Thanks to Jill Valentine fans for your kindness and politeness."

It's unclear whether or not Zotova will also be providing the voice for Jill, but I doubt it. The faces of Leon and Claire in Resident Evil 2 were also models who had their faces scanned, while separate actors provided the actual voices for the characters. I would assume that we're looking at a similar case for Jill, though the voice cast of Resident Evil 3 has yet to be announced.
