Destiny 2 has been a huge and continued success for Bungie. The game has a dedicated player base, highly rated DLC, great gunplay and more - but perhaps the highest achievement for Bungie is its newest release. A Destiny toaster.

That's right, Bungie has now released a Destiny toaster that burns the logo of the game right onto the bread of your choice. The kitchen appliance is ready to order for $84.99 on the Bungie store, and it comes with an in-game emblem code so all the other players know of your superior loaf status.

Soon enough you'll be able to have an entire kitchen made from gaming merchandise, what with the release of the Xbox Series X mini-fridge...

So, I guess you're wondering why. It's not like we normally see a toaster, or any other counter-top kitchen appliances, in the gaming world - well, apart from the Xbox Series X mini-fridge. The toaster is for a great cause that's explained on the store page:

"In June 2020, the Destiny Community raised more than $800,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:registered: during Bungie's livestream supporting Gaming Community Expo (GCX). During the livestream, Bungie announced that if we hit $777,777.77, we would look into offering an Official Destiny Toaster."

An additional 10% of the profits from the toasters will go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Oh, and you get a sandwich holder with your purchase, for your newly crisped bread. But I guess that still doesn't answer the question of why a toaster, right? Well, PC Gamer explained the meme pretty well.

First, the Destiny community has coined a term about "getting that bread" - ordinarily, it means earning money of course, but in Destiny, it means getting great loot. Additionally, the Jötunn exotic fusion rifle looks a lot like a toaster. Mix the two memes and you get a toaster with a charitable heart.
