As promised, Fortnite's latest in-game event ended with a bang - or to be more accurate, the opposite of a bang, if that's what a black hole technically is. I'm not entirely sure, to be honest.
At any rate, as the countdown to the popular battle royale's "The End" event finally reached zero, the rocket that was slowly being built over the course of Season 10 finally launched, flew through a rift, and proceeded to duplicate itself over and over again until the rockets managed to smash a hole in time and space right in front of the meteor which I'm told destroyed Dusty Depot back in Season 3's original timeline.

Full disclosure, I don't play Fortnite nearly enough to be familiar with all of these insane goings-on, so I'm just gonna go right ahead and assume all of this makes sense to more devoted players. I always thought it was just a stupid battle royale, but Fortnite appears to have turned into Fringe while I wasn't looking.
Anyway, the meteor fell through the new rift created by the rockets (sure) and then appeared over Loot Lake, destroying the hidden vault there that was apparently storing some massive mysterious power (sure again).
Obviously, this collision resulted in the creation of a black hole which gobbled up the entire map and, we can assume, the whole of the Fortnite universe. Standard battle royale stuff, right?
It's at this point you might have assumed that the previously-leaked Fortnite Chapter Two would surface alongside the alleged new map, but it was not to be. Instead, everything has gone dark - literally.

At the time of writing, attempting to log back into the game will bring you face to face with a black screen, with nothing but the black hole in the centre. Even the official Fortnite website and social channels are sharing the same live feed. Shout out to the 17,460 people who were watching the livestream do nothing when I checked in on it.
Clearly something is going to happen at some point. The Fortnite Chapter Two leak made that much clear, so my assumption is that Epic Games is busy preparing whatever changes it has planned, and has managed to turn the downtime into an event in and of itself, which is pretty impressive.

It's not entirely clear when Fortnite will be back up and running, but we'll be sure to update you as soon as there's some kind of big bang or other exciting development in the livestream. Until then, I guess we just sit back and wait.
