The Internet Has Not Been Kind To The Prince Of Persia Remake

The Internet Has Not Been Kind To The Prince Of Persia Remake

The great prince rinse.

After months of rumours and leaks, Ubisoft finally unveiled the much-requested Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time remake. Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January 2021, the classic 2003 action-adventure game has been given a fresh coat of paint and is ready to capture the hearts of a whole new generation.

That's the plan, anyway. The problem is that this Sands Of Time remake doesn't look... brilliant. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a HD remaster of one of the best games of 2003, and I'll absolutely play it - but the reveal trailer has a lot of people wondering why Ubisoft is referring to this as a "remake", when the visual upgrades don't seem to be all that impressive based on what we've seen so far.

Needless to say, there are some pretty unimpressed gamers out there right now.

But it's worth noting that, looks aside, there are a lot of us who are genuinely excited to revisit such a fantastic title - myself included. There's also the chance that Ubisoft could polish things up a little more between now and January, so what we saw last night not might necessarily be the final product. We'll have to wait and see. Honestly though, I'm just happy Ubisoft has finally revived the prince... even if it's not exactly how I imagined it.
