The Internet Has Not Been Kind To The Resident Evil Movie Trailer

Not the best start

Last night we were treated to a first look at Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City in action. It's safe to say that the response to the trailer so far has been... not great.

This new movie is a complete reboot, which means it has nothing to do with the Milla Jovovich/Paul W.S. Anderson movies from back in the day. Instead, we're told, Welcome To Raccoon City is a more faithful adaptation of the Capcom survival horror series that combines the events of the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2.

As Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy fight to survive a zombie-infested Racoon City, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine investigate the mysterious Spencer Mansion. Take a look at the trailer below!

Fans of the series were quick to react to the new trailer with a wide range of opinions. Most agree that the movie looks kind of awful, although some are insisting that's part of Resident Evil's schlocky B-movie charm and will ultimately work in its favour.

Meanwhile, other fans are being... slightly less kind.
