Unless you've been hiding under a rock, or if you're well-adjusted enough that you can go without checking your phone for extended periods of time, you've probably heard the news by now. HBO is adapting Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed PlayStation adventure The Last Of Us into a TV series.
While video game adaptations are infamously tricky to get right, what we're hearing about The Last Of Us right now has me quietly confident that we're in for a genuinely interesting show. For a start, HBO don't tend to screw around when it comes to producing quality television. There's also the fact that Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann, director of the original game and its upcoming sequel, will be helping to write the show.
Perhaps most exciting of all, however, is the inclusion of Craig Mazin as writer. While you might not know Mazin by name, you'll certainly recognise his work on 2019's Chernobyl, the gritty historical drama that left viewers around the world... for lack of a better term, completely shook.
The combination of Mazin's eye for grim drama and Druckmann's inherent understanding of the characters and world of The Last Of Us should make for great TV on paper. But if you're still on the fence about whether this show can work, you'll be glad to know that Mazin is a dedicated gamer himself. One with excellent taste, it has to be said.
Taking to Twitter, Mazin - who's also writing the upcoming Borderlands movie - shared a list of his all-time favourite games with followers. There are some absolute gems in there, with the likes of GoldenEye 007, Red Dead Redemption, Oblivion, and of course The Last Of Us in the mix.
Take a look for yourself below.

In a statement accompanying yesterday's announcement, Druckmann said: "From the first time I sat down to talk with Craig I was equally blown away by his approach to narrative and his love and deep understanding of The Last of Us. With Chernobyl, Craig and HBO created a tense, harrowing, emotional masterpiece. I couldn't think of better partners to bring the story of The Last of Us to life as a television show."
I think it's fair to say we're in safe hands with this one. Now, who wants to put odds on The Last Of Us TV show arriving before the Uncharted movie?
