The Level Cap In ‘Apex Legends’ Is Being Increased To 500

If you've been maxed out in Apex Legends for a while now the Respawn Entertainment has good news for you. The developer is increasing the level cap to 500, giving you a huge amount of breathing room to progress. If you're not at level 100, this isn't entirely reason to despair either as the XP requirement to get there has been reduced by 5%. So you'll now be able to hit level 100 that little bit more easily (though you will now have another 400 levels to gain to get all the way to the top of the progression mountain).

Those levels aren't simply a number, though, as Respawn is increasing the number of Apex Packs you can earn along the way. Whereas you would acquire 45 of the cosmetics bundles on the way 100, you can now earn 199 on the way to 500.

Respawn's detailed when you'll be getting those drops, too:

  • "Level 2 - 20: One pack every level
  • Level 22 - 300: One pack every two levels
  • Level 305 - 500: One pack every five levels
  • You will continue to earn 600 Legend Tokens per level
  • Apex Packs rewards will be retroactive"

There are also lots of new badges to earn as you level up. Check them out below:

Respawn is also releasing 36 new gun charms that you can clip to the side of your weapons and, frankly, they look great. Check them below:

Considering you start each round of Apex Legends fresh, as is the nature of battle royale games, with no levelled up abilities or advantages from your character level, cosmetics is what it's all about. They're your way to show off that you know a thing or two about this game. And, in a game like this, if you're not rocking the hot pink armour and most elaborate weapon skins and gun charms then, well, you're just playing it wrong.
