Ah game delays, game delays, when are there not game delays? The upcoming title The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has now been officially delayed into 2022 - however there is some good news that comes with that. Daedalic has now found a publisher for the title.

A tweet from publishing company Nacon reveals two things. First, of course, the delay. However, the second reveal is that it will now be working with Daedalic to release the game. Very few details are otherwise revealed in the tweet, however, it does serve as confirmation to people that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be coming to Xboxes, Playstations, the Nintendo Switch, and PC. Sounds like if you've got a console already, it's more than likely that you'll be able to play the game.

We're not sure anyone really knows what to expect from The Lord of the Rings: Gollum either. It's not exactly like we've all been looking to play the riddle loving creature over any other character in the series. As far as the information about the game on the Steam page goes, the game is tagged as Adventure, Stealth, Story Rich, and Action.

The screenshots look a little strange too - there is definitely an element of stealth where Gollum is going to have to scamper from cover to cover to evade detection by larger enemies. But on top of that, it also looks like you're going to have to strike a balance between Gollum's personalities to survive the situations you come across - the passive but weak side of Gollum and the aggressive but strong side to him.

Honestly, the delay gives us a little more time to think about the potential for the title. Alongside the new announcements for an open-world Star Wars game, the Indiana Jones game on its way, and IO Interactive's James Bond game - there is a lot of potential for licensed titles making a massive impact on the future of games.
