'The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum' New Trailer Confirms Classic Characters And Release Window

The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum is very much still in development and sneaking its way towards us - we're just in for a bit of a wait. We got our first real look at Daedalic Entertainment's upcoming stealth-action game back in March, although it didn't give too much away.
Fortunately, we've now been treated to a fresh look at Gollum in action as part of a new developer interview released during the Nacon Connect live show. While hardly the deep dive we've been waiting for, it does offer a glimpse at some of the game's environments, and confirms the appearance of some fan-favourite characters.

One of the most exciting parts of the trailer for a massive Tolkien nerd like me was the confirmation that Gandalf will be making an appearance. The Grey variation of the wise of old wizard as revealed as part of the showcase, and looks absolutely perfect. How he'll fit into the game remains to be seen, but who wouldn't love to play a level in which Gollum sneaks around Gandalf's home while desperately trying not to be detected by the formidable magic user?
We also got a look at the Mouth of Sauron, who looks as horrifying as ever. Don't expect a warm welcome if this guy catches you scuttling around, that's for sure. We'll also meet Thranduil, Elven King of the Woodland Realm at some point on our journey. It's clear the team at Daedalic Entertainment are truly passionate about getting to create a game based in this universe.
All we need to do is wait a little bit longer, as The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum is expected to launch on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S around the autumn of 2022.
If nothing else, it's great to see the likes of Gandalf will be showing up, because - and I cannot stress this enough - Gollum is nobody's favourite LOTR character.
