How great was season two of The Mandalorian, though? The first series of the Disney Plus show was pretty awesome, obviously, but holy crap did it kick things up a gear for the second season.

The live-action Star Wars show delivered hit after hit, combining dizzying special effects with a great mix of old and new characters. It had everything a Star Wars fan could ever want, and just when you think you couldn't take another bite of beautifully arranged fan-service? Bang! Luke f*cking Skywalker appears.

Needless to say, there's a lot riding on season three of The Mandalorian. The next lot of episodes aren't expected on Disney Plus until 2022, but the show's producer Dave Filoni has confirmed that plans are in motion, and that we can definitely expect from the continuing adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Filoni confirmed that the focus is currently on The Book Of Boba Fett. The upcoming series picks up after the events of The Mandalorian's second season, but will be centered around Boba Fett and what he plans to do now that he's off Tatooine and reunited with his Mandalorian armour. That's set to drop later this year, after which it'll be time to pick back up with The Mandalorian.

"Oh, that's a tricky one," Filoni said when asked about season three. "You know I don't like to go into those answers without Jon here, my partner Jon Favreau. It's exciting, we're both working on that, we're working on Boba Fett right now, so there's a lot of new adventures coming up. I have to be careful, I can't really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with it. Let's just say that."

As long as Baby Yo- I mean Grogu makes his grand return, I'll be happy with whatever season three throws my way.
