The Far Cry games know how to build some of the best bad guys you love to hate. Each instalment focuses on one main antagonist who sits somewhere between evil genius and sadistic best friend. The Ubisoft team brings to life these hellish characters that threaten and goad the player, and with this new Far Cry 6 teaser, it's obvious that Antón Castillo will be no different.

Antón, played by Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul actor Giancarlo Esposito, is the ruler of a fictional country undergoing a revolution. Yara is a fictional Caribbean island taking inspiration from places like Cuba, and will be the setting of your adventures as you try to overthrow El Presidente and his regime. The new teaser released by Ubisoft shows us how Antón attempts to manipulate the populace with poisonous words about fake and real Yarans.

A portrait of the tyrannical leader slowly transforms to give Antón devil horns as his speech mentions "sacrifice in the name of progress", confirming he's probably not a nice dude. I don't know, maybe he's just misunderstood, and just has a thing for throwing grenades at crowds.

The public hasn't yet seen a lot of gameplay for Far Cry 6 (though we also might be able to show you quite a bit, very soon) but we do know a decent amount about the setting. Of course, Antón Castillo is your enemy and the goal is to defeat him - but additionally, he is preparing his young son to take on a role as his replacement. His son, Diego, was thought by fans to be Far Cry 3's Vaas, as his younger self - but the developers made clear that this isn't the case back in November 2020. Diego's role in the game is sure to be important, whatever his eventual future, so we'll be waiting to see how the plot plays out.

As we hinted at, just up there, there is a full gameplay reveal for Far Cry 6 set to release on May 28 at 6:30pm CEST/5:30pm BST. So keep your eyes on GAMINGbible, especially our Facebook page, because we've almost certainly got something up our sleeves.
