The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is often lauded as not only one of the best RPGs of all time but one of the best games of all time. The story of Geralt of Rivia as he tries to find Ciri, the people he encounters on the way, and the tough decisions required to succeed in your mission is an incredible gaming experience. I know that when I finished The Witcher 3 and its two incredible DLC stories, I cried a little bit because I didn't want to say goodbye but now we all have an excuse to go and revisit The Continent as the next-gen update for the game will add in some new content.

During WitcherCon, the online celebration of Netflix's The Witcher show, the books, and CD Projekt Red's games, it was announced that there would be new content coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Though we don't know entirely what that means yet it seems that the game will get a download of Geralt that feels a little more like Henry Cavill and more.

If you're thinking of going away this year, maybe you'd be interested in taking a trip to sunny, sunny Skellige...

In the tweet, announcing the new look for Geralt and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, CD Projekt Red says: "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC this year! Here's a sneak peek of our updated cover art. Spoiler alert: we also prepared some free DLCs inspired by Netflix's The Witcher. More info coming soon!

The picture that came with the tweet shows the alternative look for Geralt. It's somewhere in between the original face and Henry Cavill's interpretation of the character. It walks the line between them, and though a little trippy at first glance it definitely still looks and feels like Geralt.

We can't wait to hear how CD Projekt Red is going to update the phenomenal 2015 game. We hope there might be a new story here and there inspired by the Netflix series, or maybe they'll get Dandelion to sing 'Toss A Coin To Your Witcher'. Whatever the update, I'm sure many fans run back into the open arms of The Witcher 3 with delight.
