Season two of Netflix's The Witcher is set to resume filming in August, it's been confirmed. The live-action fantasy series had only just started filming in the UK when it was put on hold back in March - along with almost all film and TV productions - in an effort to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Thankfully, Netflix has now confirmed that work on Geralt's next run of adventures can resume. The streaming giant shared a poem on Twitter in the style of our favourite bard Jaskier. Take a look below.

August 17th isn't too far away, which is great. Of course, the delayed production also means we're likely to be waiting a little longer before we can actually watch season two of The Witcher. That's to be expected though, and the health of the cast and crew should obviously come first.
So what do we actually know about season two so far? Not a lot, actually... but we can look forward to seeing a truly stellar cast of familiar faces and newcomers. We already know that there are multiple witchers joining Geralt this time around. Kim Bodnia (The Bridge) is playing Geralt's friend and mentor Vesemir.
Vesemir, incidentally, will also be getting his own animated spinoff called Nightmare Of The Wolf. The feature-length adventure will be released before season two, and should tide us over while we wait for the live-action adventures to resume.
Meanwhile, Paul Bullion and Thue Ersted Rasmussen are playing Lambert and Eskel respectively. Both are fellow witchers who trained with Geralt at Kaer Morhen. The three witchers have something of a brothers/rival dynamic that was vastly entertaining in the books and games. It should translate well to the show.

We'll also be joined by Yasen Atour as Coen, Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, and Mecia Simson as Francesca, the queen of the elves of Dol Blathanna. The Witcher season two is currently expected to arrive in 2021, but it's unclear if the delayed production will impact that at all.
It's also not entirely clear what's going on with the aforementioned Nightmare Of The Wolf spinoff, but don't be surprised if that gets pushed back a bit too.
