'The Wolf Among Us 2' Finally Confirmed In Sweet New Trailer

Howl did this happen?

There are plenty of video games out there that have long deserved a sequel. Telltale's The Wolf Among Us is, without a doubt, one such game. The gritty episodic fantasy adventure is widely (and rightly) regarded as some of Telltale's best work. A follow-up was reportedly on the cards for many years, but never got very far for various reasons.

Unfortunately, Telltale's sudden closure late last year seemed to kill the idea of a sequel to The Wolf Among Us once and for all. Whatever tentative plans there had been were abandoned, and the 250-plus staff who worked at Telltale were unexpectedly forced to move on and find new work.

All of this is why it's so genuinely surprising that we're now getting a brand new adventure with Bigby Wolf and Snow White. The Wolf Among Us will, amazingly, be returning for a brand new season of episodes. If you don't believe me, check out the teaser trailer for yourself below.

So, how on Earth has this happened? You might remember that the Telltale brand was revived under the new ownership of LCG Entertainment earlier this year, with vague plans to work on new entries in some of the previous incarnation's IPs.

Those that are worried that this new season of The Wolf Among Us will end up a shell of its former self as a result of the change in leadership needn't worry though. The new Telltale is partnering with AdHoc Studio, a team comprised of developers who worked at the original Telltale on some of its earlier games - including the first season of The Wolf Among Us.

"The Wolf Among Us is one of the most popular titles in the Telltale catalog, so we are thrilled to announce that development on Wolf 2 has again started and assure all of the series' fans that it is in good hands," said LCG boss Jamie Ottilie in a statement.

"Partnering with AdHoc Studio enables us to work with many of the key creative and development talent from the original Wolf series while strategically growing the new Telltale."

Returning to work on the new entry are directors Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart, writer Pierre Shorette, and composer Jared Emerson-Johnson. Adam Harrington and Erin Yvette will also be back to voice Bigby Wolf and Snow White respectively.

There's no word on a release date or platforms yet, but let's all just take a moment to appreciate that the impossible has happened. Between this and a new Half-Life game, I'm starting to think that magic lamp I found actually does work.
