This 'Call Of Duty 2' 5K Remaster Looks Absolutely Incredible

I feel that as Activision releases more and more Call of Duty games, there are more and more people who crave a return to the roots of the series. After all, CoD wouldn't be the huge success it is today without the first games in the series, and that includes 2005's Call of Duty 2.

Call of Duty 2 was the beginning of many fans love-hate relationship with Activision's FPS. Set in World War II, this title was the follow up to the original Call of Duty and solidified the series' legacy as the shooter of choice for many gamers. Now all these years later, some fans have chosen to honour the game and its history by updating and upgrading its graphics.

As reported by the Dark Side of Gaming, user Kuzja80 on Nexus Mods has made an incredible 5k update for Call of Duty 2. The mod makes the game look almost entirely new and honestly, it's probably the remake that many CoD fans would have been waiting for.

There is no new gameplay content with the Call of Duty 2 REMASTERED mod from the creator but it does all look a lot cleaner. It is obviously still a PlayStation 2 / Xbox 360 era game but with some extra flair the original graphics wouldn't have anymore.

As the original report notes, you can download the game and the launcher from NexusMods. The recommendation is that you also download the launcher to make sure the mod works - otherwise, you're likely to just get an error message instead. So when you have the opportunity to return to your FPS roots, perhaps Call of Duty 2 is going to be a great destination for you.
