This Gargantuan 'Minecraft' City Was Made By Professional Builders

Players seem to be fond of recreating locations in games whenever they can - whether those places are real-life or fictional. Just recently we reported that someone had remade Pallet Town in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and then there's the project for Minecraft that is trying to recreate the entire Earth to scale.

Now, a group of professional Minecraft builders have recreated The Labyrinth City of Orario from the DanMachi anime inside the world of Minecraft - and each building has its own interior. But unlike many other creations, you can't download and explore this one as it was commissioned by a private client. Instead, you'll have to content yourself with looking at the (impressive) screenshots below.

Varuna is the name of the group responsible for the creation and, according to Eurogamer, it took them roughly two months, working 12 hours per day, to complete this particular build. You can check out some of their other creations over on their website.

"Varuna is a group of talented architects, designers and artists who work within the popular video game Minecraft to create custom worlds or 'builds' for both private clients and the public," says Varuna's official site. "Our Minecraft builds range from recreations of real-life locations to completely fantasy worlds imagined and built by the builders and members of Varuna. We strive to create builds that inspire awe and joy within people. Our builds are often used in Minecraft servers as sets for other mini-games within Minecraft."

Every time I see something like this, I immediately want to jump into Minecraft and start work on my own recreation of some fictional place or town. But then it dawns on me just how much work that would involve and I don't touch the game again for another few months. I realise that this particular group is getting paid for their efforts, but hats off to anyone that can stick with one of these projects and see them through to completion.
