Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 And 2 - Remastered isn't even out until September, but it sounds like The Birdman himself already has his eyes set on the future. In a recent interview, Hawk suggested that the upcoming release will lead to remasters of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Bring 'em on, I say.

Hawk's comments come from the latest issue of Game Informer (thanks, Destructoid). He described the long-awaited remasters of the 1999/2000 classics as "just the start," explaining that Activision and developer Vicarious Visions will likely use 1 And 2 - Remastered as a baseline to bring back the third and fourth games in the series.

"This is just the start," Hawk said. "With that baseline we're hopefully going to be able to help remaster other titles, Pro Skater 3 and 4 even, and start to work on a new direction. That's ultimately the goal for me."

While the prospect of getting to play through remastered versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 definitely works me up into a soapy lather, I'm even more interested in the "new direction" that Hawk touched on. Could we be on track for all-new games in the franchise? Maybe they can have another go at Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, because the 2015 version was not worthy of the name.

This isn't the first time there's been talk of bringing back 3 and 4 after 1 and 2 release. GAMINGbible spoke to Vicarious Visions Chief Operating Officer Simon Ebejer when 1 And 2 - Remastered was announced a few months back, and the developer seemed ready and willing to take the franchise into the future.

"I've gotta tell you from a developer perspective and someone who has worked on Tony Hawk games in one way or another at various points throughout my career I'm super focused right now on making Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 - Remastered awesome," he explained. "But I'd always be super excited to continue to work on Tony Hawk content for as long as people want it."

Sounds to me like the future of the franchise is, understandably, dependent on sales. Hopefully enough people fork out for 1 And 2 - Remastered then, because I would love to tear it up around maps like San Francisco and London again. Let's make it happen, people.
