Did you know you needed a Destiny-like Transformers game? We didn't but now it's on the way we can't wait to see what it might have to offer. Word of the upcoming game first started years ago and originally was set for a 2018/2019 launch according to Wccftech. Now more details are slowly coming to light including the main inspirations for the game.

Some old documents about the title have now made it to the public eye and although they're surely outdated as they're from 2017 - the basis for the game is likely still similar. Originally named Transformers: Impact the story's basis starts like this: "Many years in the future, the Aegis, a massive alien superweapon, drifts into the Sol System. The Autobots and Decepticons wage a fierce battle for control of the derelict weapon. The battle ends in a massive explosion, decimating both Transformer forces and shattering the Aegis into massive Shards.

"The Shards rain down on Earth with devastating impact, instantly corrupting the land where they fall. Now, with the combined fate of the Transformers and humanity threatened, the Autobots and Decepticons must band together and fight for survival against the Corruption brought by the Shards of Aegis." So if you've always preferred the look of the Decepticons, the game still has your interests covered.

The audience that the game is looking to appeal to are those that enjoy either Warframe or Destiny as the Transformers title will take a lot of inspiration from the former's PvE coop, and the later's world sharing combat.

It also reveals, what looks like, the decision to make the game free-to-play with microtransactions in-game. "The Licensed Game will be distributed as a "freemium" model with in-game purchases." Whether that means you get aesthetics to choose from or if instead it's more designed so you get new models, weapons, and abilities isn't known right now. We'll just have to keep waiting on new information about the game to see where the title eventually ends up.
