Baby Sonic Might Be The Most Adorable Thing I've Ever Seen

Baby Sonic Might Be The Most Adorable Thing I've Ever Seen

Gotta Grow Fast

Following the Sonic The Hedgehog movie has been a tumultuous journey to say the least.

Happiness at its first announcement, horror at its first pass at Sonic, happiness that Jim Carrey is going to be doing Jim Carrey things in it, then a decent amount of respect when the second pass at Sonic was quite a lot better than most people were expecting, actually.

But just when you thought the saga was winding down with the end of 2019, Paramount and Sega gleefully drop the absolute bombshell that is, baby Sonic.

Seen in a newly released Japanese trailer, the baby blue blur is an impossibly adorable little bundle of joy racing around his home world, no doubt causing hearts to rupture as he does so. Don't take my word for it though, check him out for yourself.

The start of the trailer seems to be almost beat-for-beat the same as the much longer trailer we saw earlier this year, but the ending shows baby Sonic holding a sunflower, presumably as some kind of peace offering to baby Yoda before the inevitable cute-off the two will have.

As beautiful as baby Sonic is - and we must protect him at all costs, by the way - I can't help but wonder; what did the original horror-show baby Sonic look like?

You know what I'm talking about. Baby Sonic before they went back and made him not nightmare fuel must have been pure, unadulterated heresy for fans of the series.

Sadly, we may never get the chance to see it, save for some poor visual effects artists who probably have the image burned into their retinas and wake up sweating every night from Sonic-induced fever dreams. Sounds brutal.

The Sonic The Hedgehog movie is speeding our way with a release date of February 14 (yes, Valentine's Day) so we won't have too long to wait until we can convert our loved ones to the new-found church of baby Sonic.
