Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa, a Twitch streamer who has had the lion's share of the limelight with her controversial content, recently threw her lot in with Dr Disrespect regarding the permanent ban he received last summer.

Dr Disrespect, also known as Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, cultivated the on-stream persona of a brash know-it-all who frequently congratulates himself on his incredible skill and physical prowess. This personality is inspired by rock and roll stars of the '80s and his bicolour outfit is never complete without a black mullet wig, reflective sunglasses, and handlebar moustache.

Cool. Very cool. Anyway, check out this compilation of wins and fails from Twitch streamers, featuring games like The Last Of Us, Rainbow Six Siege and Mario Kart.

After quitting his position as a community manager at Sledgehammer Games, his presence on Twitch streaming battle royale titles like H1Z1 and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds rose and rose. However, it wasn't smooth sailing for the star. In 2019, Beahm was banned from Twitch because he filmed a livestream while in a bathroom at E3. He also shared conspiracy theories on the coronavirus crisis with his audience, covering how 5G cellular technology causes the virus and that it is only dangerous to a small proportion of the population. Both claims have been either debunked or widely disputed in the scientific community.

Ultimately, Dr Disrespect was booted off of Twitch a few months after that, and he explained that he doesn't know why he'd gotten a permanent ban from the platform. At the time, Twitch did not specifically state the reason for the sanction. "As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community," read the official statement. Dr Disrespect moved over to YouTube where he now has more than three million subscribers but the Twitch controversy still looms over the streamer.

While Siragusa originally claimed that Dr Disrespect does know why he was banned and was purposefully not sharing the reason with his community, she walked back on this statement today. Earlier this week, Siragusa was temporarily banned by Twitch, and this might have been due to the strange ASMR meta she was engaging with in her recent streams. "Bizarre day for me. I now think it is totally possible Dr Disrespect actually doesn't know the exact reason for his ban," she said on Twitter. "Previously, I shared the sentiment 'no way he doesn't know,' but the events of today..."

She clarified that her comment is "not super related to [her] own current ban" from the platform, and fans have implored her to expand on what she means in the Tweet. However, she is yet to discuss her different perspective on Dr Disrespect. Twitch has been lambasted by its content creators for bans or sanctions with vague explanations, such as ExoHydraX's ban for her hot tub streams. We'll update you when we learn more.
