Guy "Dr DisRespect" Beahm, a popular streamer who plays Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends and Fortnite, has stated that he knows why Twitch banned him and is undertaking legal action against the service.
The reason for the ban has been shrouded in secrecy and Twitch itself was reluctant to reveal what had happened between the two parties. "As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community," said the company last summer.
However, over the course of his career, there are a lot of examples of Dr DisRespect behaving badly to refer to as possible explanations. In 2019, the streamer live streamed from the inside of a bathroom at E3 and received sanctions from Entertainment Software Association and Twitch for being in violation of the latter's privacy rules and privacy laws in the California Penal Code. He has also been accused of racism against Chinese people and promoted misinformation about the coronavirus crisis.

We might no longer need to speculate about the real reason behind the ban because it turns out that Dr Disrespect has been aware of the motivating factor behind Twitch's actions for ages. "There's a reason why I don't talk about it, I can't talk about this kind of stuff," said the streamer while live on YouTube (cheers, Dexerto). "A lot of people ask 'Do you know the reason?' Yeah, I do know the reason why now. I've known for months now."
Dr Disrespect refers to Twitch as the "Purple Snake" and that the fallout of the ban from the platform has been a "rollercoaster of emotions." And, though the specifics of the lawsuit haven't been stated, the streamer is confident that he has a case owing to the impact the ban has had on his networking opportunities in the industry.

"There's a reason why, and I'll just say this right now, champs - there's a reason why we're suing the f**k out of 'em, ok?" he added. "I don't know how else to put it, the amount of damages, and you just don't... nah." In other news, he's starting a new game development studio which aims to work alongside a "select list of mega influencers." Sure. We'll see how that goes.
