The internet is so often a cold and completely unforgiving hellhole, so it's always nice to see something genuinely wholesome occur. That's exactly what happened on Twitch recently, when a budding young streamer's mum decided to hijack his stream while he was AFK.
SDSocrates doesn't have the largest following on Twitch, nor has he been doing it for very long - but his mum sure is the kind of supportive parent that we all need in life. During a Halo 3 stream, the young gamer stepped away from his keyboard to do something else. It was at this point that his dear mum Kathy slid into shot and addressed her son's viewers.
"I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for supporting him in his streaming endeavour," Kathy said after introducing herself. "He's super excited about it, and I'm happy for him."

"He'll kill me if he sees me doing this," she added before asking the assembled viewers to tell her son to clean his room and make his bed.
Adorable, no? But it didn't stop there. Wishing to entertain her son's viewers further, Kathy delivered a touching rendition of 'You Are My Sunshine' - a song that she used to sing to her son "all the time" when he was younger.
While SDSocrates might have initially been mortified by his mum's unexpected cameo, it definitely seems to have done him way more good than harm. The clip quickly blew up after being posted over on r/LivestreamFail, with everyone praising Kathy for being such a supportive and sweet parent, and taking a genuine interest in her son's passion.

"One of those priceless moments where you go: 'mom wtf, please stop'," wrote one user. "And later in life you see this and realise that your mom was the best mom ever and you are so grateful she was your mom."
The young streamer's Twitch stats have absolutely rocketed since Kathy's cameo, too. According to Twitch analytics, average viewers are up 166%, while views are up nearly 5000%. He's also gained an incredible 678 followers in the last week alone, proving once and for all that mums really do know best. Hopefully Kathy can make another appearance for her fans soon, or even start her own Twitch channel where she sings lullabies and goes through old photo albums. I think we'd all watch that.
