What seem to be the very first details for Cyberpunk 2077''s upcoming multiplayer release have been leaked online by dataminers. CD Projekt RED confirmed last year that the sci-fi's RPG multiplayer was a massive undertaking that was being treated as a standalone release, and that development on the project would take a backseat while the studio addressed the single-player mode's issues.

As reported by DSO Gaming, dataminers have now uncovered information on some of the modes that may be available in Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer at launch. The publication notes that the following information is legit, though the dataminer who reached out to DSO Gaming in the first place wishes to remain anonymous. All of the new details on the multiplayer can be accessed via Cyberpunk 2077's executable file.

It should also be stressed that much of the information uncovered today could change during development, given that we know Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer won't be coming out anytime soon. With that in mind, read on to see what was found.

Cyberpunk 2077's executable file appears to have two separate multiplayer game modes, at present: Heists and Deathmatch. While it sounds like the latter will work exactly as you'd expect, Heists seem to be more akin to single-player quests, with the added twist that you can bring friends along for the ride. One editor helper description reads: "Set spawn point tag that will be used to spawn new players during the mission."

The Reddit found here summarises pretty much everything else that was found on the multiplayer mode, though the rest of it doesn't really give much more away in regards to what Heists are or how they work.

Meanwhile, the Deathmatch seems like it'll do exactly what it says on the tin. In true Deathmatch fashion, the mode looks to contain some fantastic lines that will trigger when certain things happen. Highlights include:

  • Your bullet was stronger than your self-esteem
  • Your shot destroyed your own body and soul. Duh
  • You sent %s directly to hell!
  • Wow! You killed %s without compassion
  • Your bullet was stronger than %s's head
  • Your shot destroyed %s's body and soul

Exciting stuff, though do take all of this with a pinch of salt until we get official news from CDPR on Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer. All sorts of things could be tweaked and changed during development, and there's every chance that both Heists and Deathmatch could be altered beyond all recognition by the time the finished product launches.
