One mode is “a breathless crew vs crew race [with] up to 100 players”.

The Crew 3 might be in development according to leaks from the second game's DLC, and it looks like players will be jetting off to Hawaii.

While The Crew 2 offered players an enormous range of racing modes, criticism was levied against its visuals and story, with a lack of replayability. DLCs from developer Ubisoft Ivory Tower did arrive with new vehicles from monster trucks to Cadillacs, cop cars and Jaguars, but these didn't address the problems that players had with the depth of the original game.

While we wait for new scoops on this possible third game, check out gameplay of the stunning Forza Horizon 5, set in the gorgeous deserts and mountains of Mexico!

The latest DLC came out in July, titled the US Speed Tour East and included a KTM X-Bow R Spear racing edition, Pontiac GTO "The Judge" '69 Sparrow competition edition and more. Reddit user RacingGameGuru0300 decided to datamine the recent updates for The Crew 2 and uncovered screenshots of something called "Project Orlando".

RacingGameGuru0300 alleged that clues about this game have been lying dormant in the files of The Crew 2 for a while (and if anyone's going to know, RacingGameGuru0300 is going to know).

It appears to have been originally intended to be another DLC for The Crew 2 until Ubisoft Ivory Tower changed track and decided to develop it into a fully fledged third game in the series. VGC also added that a reference in the files describe one of the modes to be "a breathless crew vs crew race, up to 100 players, with vehicles switch along 3 different sections".

Now, you might have noticed that the codename "Orlando" doesn't lend itself to images of Hawaii. Personally, that makes me think of Florida. What about "Project Pearl" for Pearl City? Like, why is it called "Orlando" if it's not there? Anyway.

Industry insider Tom Henderson weighed in on the discovery of "Project Orlando" and clarified that his sources say it's called "The Crew: Orlando." Moreover, it will be a "completely new game with a new driving engine" and a possible reboot of the second game in the series as the team were unhappy with the way it ended up.

In any event, the images of "Project Orlando" have been scrubbed from the Internet and Henderson said that the game is in pre-alpha with no stated release window. So, we'll have to twiddle our thumbs and wait for further information from Ubisoft itself on the third The Crew game.
