A new photo of the upcoming Uncharted movie has been published, and honestly, it is not having the expected effect on fans.

As a project, Uncharted has been kicking about for thirteen years, which is unbelievable. After six directors entered and exited the movie due to scheduling conflicts, Ruben Fleischer was finally brought on board for his experience in comedic action movies like Venom, 30 Minutes Or Less and Zombieland.

Written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the story is set before the series of games from Naughty Dog but it will be inspired by the fourth game, A Thief's End. Tom Holland is playing the wise-cracking treasure hunter and Mark Wahlberg is in the role of Victor Sullivan, a smuggler who eventually becomes his mentor. Interestingly enough, Wahlberg was originally intended to play Nathan Drake when the movie was in development in 2010. Sophia Taylor Ali, who starred in Grey's Anatomy, is also appearing in the movie as Chloe Frazer, Tati Gabrielle is playing Braddock and Antonio Banderas is in an as yet unannounced role.

HBO is currently working on an adaptation of a different Naughty Dog game, and it's signed Star Wars and Game of Thrones actors as the main characters. Get the scoop on The Last Of Us show below.

Sony Pictures hasn't shared a lot on the upcoming Uncharted movie so when this new photo which shows Nate and Sully together hit the Internet, it was weighed, measured and found wanting. You see, Sully doesn't have a moustache. And the moustache is a very clear part of his character. This is strange, seeing that in October 2020, Wahlberg posted a video of himself in a makeup chair on the set of Uncharted with the unmistakable facial hair. There are two possible explanations, if you ask me. Firstly, Sully might have been captured by the baddies and they shaved off his moustache in an act of torment, debasing the man. Secondly, Sully doesn't have a moustache during the entirety of the movie until a post-credits scene rolls, where he examines himself in a mirror and likes his new look, thereby setting up the second Uncharted movie.

Out of the two, it's more likely to be the latter. Fans are calling out the costume choices for the characters, criticising it as a generic action movie rather than a true adaptation of the games. "If [Sully] doesn't have a mustache and fun collared shirts in the rest of this movie then we're gonna have a problem," said @maddiemeters on Twitter. "How am I supposed to believe that THAT is VICTOR SULLIVAN!?!?" said @jsaunders98. Perhaps they lost their suitcases at the airport...? Uncharted comes to theatres on February 8th, 2022.
